Capital Amateur Hockey Association is pleased to announce the following information related to travel hockey tryouts for the upcoming 2019-2020 Columbus Capitals travel hockey season. Please see below for details about expected teams, registration details and other relevant information.

(Registration deadline is April 7th to participate in free pre-tryout skate sessions. See below for info.)

TRYOUTS will be held Tuesday, April 23 – Sunday, April 28.

The try-out fee is $100.00.

NOTE: Registration will open March 18 and will close April 14, 2019 at 11:59 pm. The ONLY exception to this registration deadline is for players who played for the Ohio AAA Blue Jackets in the current season and do not make the team for the upcoming season. If your player is trying out for AAA but is not a current AAA player, they should register at CAHA by the deadline. We will refund any player who makes AAA but registers at CAHA ahead of time. We ask for registration prior to AAA tryouts so we can plan for the potential number of kids trying out at each birth year.

For the 2019-2020 season, CAHA expects to field the following teams:

14U Bantam Major 2005 AA

14U Bantam Major 2005 A

14U Bantam Minor 2006 AA

14U Bantam Minor 2006 A

12U Pee Wee Major 2007 AA

12U Pee Wee Minor 2008 AA

10U Squirt Major 2009 AA

10U Squirt Minor 2010 AA

Squirt & Pee Wee A teams - Please note that we are considering fielding a Squirt A and/or a Pee Wee A team. Whether we field these teams will depend on a variety of factors. The most important factor considered in forming travel teams is to place kids at the proper level for development. We encourage all players that are interested in travel hockey to participate in travel tryouts.

Coaches will be announced by April 1st.

CAHA strongly encourages all parents who have kids trying out for travel hockey to visit the CAHA website and review the information under “Travel Hockey.” While each team is slightly different, there are some basic expectations that are laid out here so parents understand the commitment level prior to accepting a spot on a team.

If you have any questions, please contact the via email.

All further communication about travel tryouts will be sent to the email that is provided upon registration for tryouts.

Thank you,
