Board Members
Born and raised in Sunbury, Ohio, Mark has dedicated 13 years to the CAHA program. He began as an assistant coach for his oldest son, Wyatt, at the bantam level for two years, then coached the pre-post 67 team for two years. Currently, he assists with his youngest son, Logan, in the bantam minor division.
A proud 22-year retired Army veteran, Mark brings strong leadership, discipline, and a commitment to character development to his coaching philosophy. He believes that sports teach valuable life lessons, such as teamwork and resilience.
As a member of the CAHA Board of Directors, Mark is focused on creating a positive, inclusive environment that fosters growth and sportsmanship for all players. With his experience and passion for the game, he is excited to help young athletes thrive on and off the ice.
Slate has been actively involved with CAHA for over 9 years, starting as a volunteer in 2015 by coaching mini and mite teams and select travel teams. He has consistently supported various programs within CAHA and continued coaching youth teams. In 2021, Slate ran for and was elected to the board of directors. Since joining the board, he has focused on enhancing the CAHA program through his work on travel committees, aiming to advance player development and promote the growth of hockey in central Ohio.
Andrew has been an active member of CAHA since 2006, contributing as a coach, manager, board member, and an enthusiastic goalie parent. Across these roles, he has consistently valued the excitement and growth players experience as they gain confidence through their abilities on the ice. Andrew believes that hockey offers invaluable life lessons that extend beyond the rink, positively impacting student-athletes in both their academic and community lives.
Alex was born and raised in Columbus, where he played for CAHA in the 1990s. He continued his hockey journey with the Columbus Capitals, playing travel hockey through high school. After college, he became the head coach of the Capitals travel teams for several seasons in the 2000s, earning his Level 3 USA Hockey coaching certification.
His passion for the game remains strong as he continues to play in the Chiller Adult Hockey League. In recent years, he has enjoyed coaching his son’s hockey teams, helping to instill a love for the game in both him and his teammates. Alex is currently the head coach of his son’s 2014 Columbus Capitals White team.
CAHA has deep roots in Alex's family. He grew up playing for CAHA, his father served as its president 25 years ago, and his nephew currently plays goalie for the 2012 Capitals. For Alex, CAHA truly feels like home!
Jim and his family have been with CAHA for 7+ years. He was fortunate to have lived hockey professionally as an equipment manager for 21 years. He worked for 8 years in professional hockey and for 13 years was with Ohio State Women’s Ice Hockey. He has been with Ohio State Athletics for 16 years in total. While at Ohio State, he worked with USA Hockey, including 2 World Championships in 2008 in Harbin China and 2009 in Finland as well as the Vancouver Olympics in 2010.
Jim's coaching and board member primary goal is to ensure the kids have fun and fall in love with or stay in love with the game of hockey. He also believes in kids playing multiple sports and he uses other sports to help explain different concepts within the game of hockey.
Tim was born and raised in Columbus, Ohio, where he played multiple sports and developed a passion for coaching and leadership. With over 25 years of experience, he has coached baseball and football at various levels. He currently serves as the Booster President at Olentangy Liberty Hockey and has held several leadership roles in the community.
Tim's sons have participated in CAHA for the past five years, prompting him to give back by serving on the CAHA Board of Directors. He is a local business owner in Powell, Ohio, where he resides with his wife, Katie, and their three children.
Jaymie is an elementary teacher dedicated to fostering growth and learning in her students. Alongside her teaching, she proudly serves as the Ice Scheduler for the Columbus Capitals, where she coordinates schedules for all tournament and travel hockey teams. With a strong commitment to supporting both education and youth sports, Jaymie is excited to create positive and enriching experiences for young athletes, helping them thrive both on and off the ice.
A former Associate Producer for WKRN, the ABC affiliate in Nashville, TN, Anne has a passion for connecting people through current events and creating engaging content. Although her days of covering politics are behind her, she’s excited to share the hockey journeys of our Columbus Capitals Youth Hockey teams as they pursue tournament wins and enjoy off-ice events and team bonding opportunities.
Anne dove into the world of hockey in 2017 when her son Tyson declared it his favorite sport at age three. Now living in Delaware, OH, with her husband Jeff and their dog Conrad, she looks forward to connecting with the community and promoting PR partnerships and sponsorship opportunities through social media.
