Financial Responsibility Policy

Financial Responsibility Policy

Participation in CAHA’s youth travel hockey program requires a commitment to the financial obligations associated with the season. To ensure the smooth operation of the program, all families must adhere to the following financial responsibility policy:

1. Payment Obligation: Parents/guardians agree to pay the full league fees according to their team’s respective established payment schedule. By enrolling a player in the program, families accept responsibility for the entire season’s fees, regardless of circumstances that may arise.

2. No Refunds or Discounts: The full season’s league fees remain due even if a player:

  • Voluntarily leaves the team before the season concludes,
  • Suffers an injury that prevents participation,
  • Relocates outside of the central Ohio region,
  • Is removed from the team for disciplinary or other reasons,
  • Experiences any other unforeseen circumstances that prevent participation.

No refunds, prorated adjustments, or discounts will be issued under any circumstances.

3. Financial Hardship Assistance: If you anticipate any difficulty in meeting the payment schedule, you are obligated to notify the CAHA Treasurer at the beginning of the season or when you know that you will be unable to meet a particular payment deadline. Requests for alternative payment plans will be kept strictly confidential.

4. Delinquent Accounts & Participation Restriction: If a player’s account becomes delinquent by more than ten (10) days, that player will be ineligible to participate in any team activities, including but not limited to practices, games, and team events, until the account is brought to current status.

5. Late Fees & Returned Payment Penalties: Parents/guardians agree to pay any applicable late fees and penalties associated with returned payments (e.g., insufficient funds, declined transactions). Failure to address outstanding fees and penalties may result in further action, including potential legal collection processes.

6. Reporting to USA Hockey: Any family who does not fulfill their financial obligations will be reported to USA Hockey as "Not in Good Standing." This designation may impact the player's ability to participate in other USA Hockey-sanctioned events or programs.

By registering your player for a team, parents/guardians acknowledge and accept this financial responsibility policy in its entirety. Compliance with this policy is mandatory to ensure fairness and financial stability for the entire team and program.
